Kentigern (Mungo)

Kentigern (Mungo)
(d. 603)
   Bishop, Missionary and Saint.
Kentigern was born of a noble family and grew up in Culross, Scotland. He became Bishop of Strathclyde, but was later driven out by the anti-Christian party. He then conducted missions in Cumbria and Wales, before returning to Glasgow. He is said to have met St columba. St Mungo’s Cathedral in Glasgow is named in his honour.
